Member Committees
The Kupferverband is represented in numerous national and international committees. In addition, it offers its own committees and working groups, which represent an in-depth information and exchange platform for the members of the Kupferverband.
Industry Committee
Purpose:
To inform and exchange on the current technical, normative and regulatory developments in electrical and non-electrical industrial products (motors, generators, transformers, cables and wires, actuators, electronic components, machine elements and many more) and the copper materials needed for their production.
Benefits for participants:
- Early knowledge of current developments (e.g. materials containing lead, new alloys and their properties).
- Regular exchange with other participants on technical, normative and regulatory issues.
- Discussion of life cycle assessments (LifeCycle, EU Commission pilot projects such as Product Environmental Footprint).

Research Committee
Purpose:
- To highlight the impact of long-term societal trends on the demand for copper materials.
- Initiation and coordination of research projects
- Participation in the research platform “Science goes Copper”.
Benefits for participants:
- Exchange with others about societal trends and their impact on products
- Definition of and insight into research projects focusing on copper materials, their properties, processing and application

Building and Construction Committee
Purpose:
To inform and exchange on the current technical, normative and regulatory developments in building products (plumbing tubes, pipe connectors (fittings), valves, roofing materials and solar thermal collectors) made of copper materials.
Benefits for participants:
- Early knowledge of current developments (e.g. materials containing lead, new alloys and their properties).
- Regular exchange with other participants on technical, normative and regulatory issues

Public Relations Committee
Purpose:
To inform and exchange views on the coverage of copper materials in the media and to contribute to the strategic design of the Kupferverband’s communication and marketing activities as well as the development of campaigns and the establishment of a press network.
Benefits for participants:
- Early information on the reporting on copper and products in which copper is used.
- Influence on the overall communication and marketing strategy.
